MPs unanimously agreed to wrap debate on Invoice C-5 on Friday, fast-tracking its passage and sending it on to the Senate.
The laws would set up a brand new statutory vacation to commemorate the victims and survivors of Indigenous residential colleges.
The transfer comes a day after a First Nation in British Columbia confirmed discovery of the stays of 215 youngsters buried in unmarked graves on the positioning of a former residential college in Kamloops.
The invoice follows an analogous one launched by the NDP in 2017 that foundered within the Senate two years later.
